Christine Turner DipCOT SROT
Wheel of Health is led by Christine Turner, Director and qualified occupational therapist, who has over 30 years experience of working with people with special physical and mental needs. For the last 20 years of her career she has worked specifically in the field of posture management, ergonomics, pressure care, wheelchair assessment and moving and handling and has worked in the statutory, voluntary and commercial sectors.
Additional post graduate training has included gaining a certificate in 'Essential Ergonomics' from the Faculty of Occupational Health, Guildford University, RoSPA certification in 'Safer People Handling'and an HSE First Aid certificate. She is a member of 'Posture and Mobility Group of England and Wales' and a founder member of the international group 'Postural Sciences Group' as well as being a member of the 'Tissue Viability Society' She is fully insured, HPC registered (Health Professions Council) and has membership of both British Wheel of Yoga and Occupational Therapy professional bodies
Over 25 years ago she embarked on her own personally rewarding journey with yoga and, as a consequence, recognised the benefit of becoming a British Wheel of Yoga trained yoga teacher.
She is able to combine these two disciplines to provide a complementary holistic practice.
Associates
Natalie is a fully registered physiotherapist who after initially working in the NHS, gaining experience of peadiatrics, orthopaedics and neurological rehabilitation moved on to specialise in paralympic sport and performance, respiratory complications of neuromuscular disease and rehabilitation of complex trauma. Her experience, combined with her training with Wheel of Health enables her to provide wheelchair and posture management solutions to adults and children with complex needs arising from brain injury, spinal injury and from acute and progressive neurological conditions.
She is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology and Association of Chartered Physiotherapy in Sports Medicine.
Chantal Mashonga Bsc Hons
Chantal graduated in Cape Town, South Africa in 1998 with a BSc Hons in Occupational Therapy.
She is a clinical specialist in wheelchairs for adults and children and has gained significant experience within the NHS and private sectors of a wide range of medical conditions requiring specialist seating and wheelchair solutions. Her clinical experience encompasses work with various neurological conditions within acute and rehabilitation settings and also 24-hour postural management
Chantal has worked within a range of environments including acute in-patients, rehabilitative units and community therapy teams.
She is a member of the British Association of Occupational therapy (BAOT), the Health Professionals Council (HPC) and the Posture and Mobility Group (PMG)
