Christine Turner qualified as an occupational therapist in 1975 and, having gained experience in a variety of settings including mental health, community neurological rehabilitation and community services, moved into the specialism of wheelchair seating/posture management and associated pressure care in the mid-1980s. She has worked within this specialist discipline within the Social services, NHS wheelchair services, the voluntary sector and within industry. On leaving the commercial sector in 2004, where she worked as an OT within a major disability equipment manufacturer, she recognised a need in the private sector for the provision of these services for clients with complex needs.
Christine therefore established a private practice working as an independent practitioner bringing together all of her experiences to offer this specialist clinical input as well as training and education within this field. Thus Wheel of Health was born and has grown steadily since that time.
