Jane has been working as a neuro-physiotherapist for 17 years; for the last 8 years she has specialized in working with people with complex physical disability, focusing on a 24 hour posture management approach. Jane has worked in a variety of neuro-rehabilitation and community settings, including work for the Specialist Disability Service in Oxford and Acquired Brain Injury Services.
In addition to providing support and clinical skill in accessing the right equipment, Jane believes a key part of her role is to support clients and their primary carers to adopt a posture management approach as part of everyday life. Posture management is a balancing act, involving compromise both in terms of equipment and implementation of gentle strategies to protect body shape and Jane aims to support individuals, their families and support teams in this evolving process.
Jane’s clinical expertise is consolidated by membership of special interest groups and post- graduate study at MSc and PGC level. Jane currently works independently and in the NHS.
